About The Position

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) cares for patients within the scope of their training and approved agreement, as outlined by their governing board. The APP works collaboratively with other providers and staff to support efficient patient flow and a high level of patient satisfaction. This position works directly at a franchised business location; specific duties and benefits may vary between franchises. American Family Care (AFC) provides walk-in primary and urgent care services seven days a week. Its centers focus on episodic treatment of acute illnesses and injuries, workers’ compensation, and occupational medicine. Each location has an onsite lab and in-house x-ray capability. AFC is the parent company of AFC Franchising, LLC (AFCF).

Requirements

Excellent communication with staff, patients, and family members.
Professional appearance and attitude.
ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA board certification.
Active and current Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice.
DEA number and state-controlled substance certificate, as required.
Ability to multitask and work independently.

Nice To Haves

One year of emergency room or urgent care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform complete, detailed, and accurate health histories; review patient records; develop comprehensive medical assessments; and order appropriate laboratory, radiological, and diagnostic studies.
Formulate medical and nursing diagnoses and institute therapy or refer patients to appropriate health care facilities, agencies, community resources, or physicians.
Institute emergency measures, treatment, or stabilization for situations such as cardiac arrest, shock, hemorrhage, convulsions, poisoning, and allergic reactions.
Interpret and analyze patient data to determine patient status, management, and treatment.
Provide patients, family members, and significant others with health care and health promotion instructions and guidance.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
