About The Position
OrthoCarolina is recruiting an Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) for its Fort Mill Orthopedic Urgent Care. The provider delivers a high level of orthopedic care consistent with OrthoCarolina’s quality standards and works in autonomous, high-volume clinics. The role evaluates, diagnoses, and treats urgent and non-urgent orthopedic conditions and injuries. It requires a clinician experienced in clinical orthopedics who is comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited physician assistant program.
- PA/NP experience is required.
- Current North Carolina PA license.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

- Prior experience in orthopedics and/or urgent care is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile medical data, including health history and examination results.
- Administer or order diagnostic tests, including x-rays, advanced imaging, physical therapy, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests, and interpret results in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons and staff.
- Perform therapeutic procedures such as injections, aspirations, and fracture reduction.
- Assess, apply, and/or remove orthopedic casts, splints, and immobilization devices.
- Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, apply appropriate service codes and charges, and help provide continuity of care.
- Document patient information and care in medical records, use a computer to access and enter data, and respond to patient inbox messages within two business days.
- Instruct and counsel patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens.
- Consult with physicians and other staff as needed to support quality patient care and continuity of care.
- Evaluate, prescribe, and provide treatment for patients seen as hospital consults, including emergency room consultations and clinic patients.
