About The Position
At Research Medical Center, the Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) is an important part of delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Under the guidance of a registered nurse, the PCT performs advanced clinical tasks and helps create a safe, welcoming environment where patients and families feel valued and respected. The role includes observing patients, documenting and communicating changes to the nursing team, helping patients with activities of daily living, and providing advanced care such as phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removal of IV lines and catheters, and wound care. The PCT also assists with supporting tasks such as collecting lab samples and clerical duties, anticipates patient needs, and responds promptly to support a seamless and compassionate patient experience.
Requirements
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- One year of experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Observe patients, document changes, and communicate them to the nursing team.
- Help patients with activities of daily living, including eating, drinking, bathing, and moving safely.
- Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removal of IV lines and catheters, and wound care.
- Collect lab samples and assist with clerical duties.
- Anticipate patient needs and respond promptly to help ensure a seamless and compassionate experience.
