About The Position

The Adult Day Program Instructor supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities by leading structured activities, teaching life skills, and promoting independence in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment. The role focuses on direct support, skill-building, and meaningful engagement in center-based and community-based settings. The instructor works with participants of varying abilities and ensures services are person-centered, respectful, and aligned with each individual's goals and preferences.

This is a full-time position based in Oroville, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Pay ranges from $17.00 to $18.30 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Compassion and empathy, with a genuine passion for supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate daily activities, including arts and crafts, music, games, exercise, cooking, and educational activities.
• Plan and support community outings and recreational activities.
• Encourage participation, engagement, and social interaction among clients.
• Teach and reinforce daily living skills such as self-care, hygiene, money management, communication, and problem-solving.
• Support individuals in building independence and confidence in everyday tasks.
• Adapt instruction to meet varying ability levels and learning styles.
• Provide hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a respectful and person-centered manner.
• Assist clients as needed with mobility, behavior support, and daily routines.
• Promote dignity, choice, and independence in all interactions.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of daily activities, attendance, and client progress.
• Complete required documentation in accordance with program and regulatory standards.
• Communicate client observations and concerns to supervisory staff.
• Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and high-quality services.
• Follow program guidelines, safety procedures, and behavior support plans.
• Drive Arc vehicles to transport clients to community activities and outings as needed.
• Ensure safe transportation practices and supervision at all times.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
