About The Position
Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking an Admitting Representative for our Admitting Department. This is a part-time, 8-hour variable shift position reporting to the Admitting Director. The variable shift includes evenings, graveyard & weekends. Days off will vary.
Requirements
- Knowledge of patient registration process
- Knowledge of HMO’s, PPO, Capitation, Medi-Cal, Medicare, Worker’s Comp., HIPAA & EMTALA
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Above-average collection skills
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual English/Spanish language skills
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 2 years experience
Responsibilities
- Greeting the patient as they arrive
- Registering patients into the hospital’s ADT system
- Verifying and validating all the patient information, including medical insurance
- Delivering that information to the different service units
- Performing tasks in a variety of settings such as, ER Department, Outpatient and direct admit transfers
- Taking PBX rotations as needed
