About The Position

Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking an Admitting Representative for our Admitting Department. This is a part-time, 8-hour variable shift position reporting to the Admitting Director. The variable shift includes evenings, graveyard & weekends. Days off will vary.

Requirements

• BLS (AHA) & AB508 certifications must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• Knowledge of patient registration process.
• Knowledge of HMO’s, PPO, Capitation, Medi-Cal, Medicare, Worker’s Comp., HIPAA & EMTALA.
• Excellent Customer Service skills
• Above-average collection skills
• Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred.

Nice To Haves

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greeting the patient as they arrive
• Registering patients into the hospital’s ADT system
• Verifying and validating all the patient information, including medical insurance
• Delivering that information to the different service units
• Performing tasks in a variety of settings such as, ER Department, Outpatient and direct admit transfers
• Taking PBX rotations as needed
