About The Position

The Admissions Coordinator at Spaulding Rehabilitation Cape Cod welcomes patients, gathers personal and medical information, and helps determine whether patients will be admitted. The role reviews patients’ medical benefits and financial responsibility forms and may arrange services such as transportation. It does not require patient care. The position works onsite at 311 Service Road, is scheduled for 40 hours per week on the day shift, and is a regular employee role.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Computer proficiency required.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills for working with varied populations.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
Associate degree in Business Administration preferred.
0–1 year of experience in hospital admissions, healthcare admissions, patient registration, patient scheduling, or patient referrals preferred.

Responsibilities

Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to gather required admission information.
Review and evaluate patient admission requests for eligibility and appropriateness.
Document patients’ personal and medical information in the system and ensure required information is complete and approved before admission.
Coordinate admissions with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other relevant parties.
Verify insurance coverage and work with patients and families to resolve insurance issues.
Assist patients and families with questions or concerns about the admissions process.
Review medical benefits and financial responsibility forms.
Arrange services for patients, such as transportation, when needed.
