About The Position

Providence Park Rehabilitation & HealthCare Center in Mobile, Alabama is seeking an Admissions Coordinator. This key role supports the organization by planning, organizing, evaluating, and directing processes involved in admitting potential residents to the nursing home. The coordinator responds to admission inquiries, explains the process, conducts facility tours, manages referrals, consults with nursing staff on medical screenings, verifies insurance, and completes admission paperwork with potential residents or their sponsors.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, HealthCare Administration, or a related field, with relevant experience in marketing, admissions, and discharges.
• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Previous experience or completion of an appropriate training program.
• Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Respond to inquiries about potential nursing home admissions in writing, by telephone, or in person.
• Explain the admission process and conduct facility tours.
• Receive inquiries and referrals for potential residents and maintain records of their receipt and disposition.
• Consult with nursing staff to medically screen inquiries and referrals.
• Verify potential residents’ medical insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, and other coverage.
• Interview potential residents and/or sponsors and complete the admission packet.
