About The Position

The Admissions Coordinator II-EnMed Recruiting works collaboratively with faculty, staff, institutional partners, and external organizations to expand awareness of the School of Engineering Medicine’s unique programs and strengthen the pipeline of future physicianeers. The Texas A&M University School of Engineering Medicine (EnMed) is a first-of-its-kind program that merges medical education with engineering innovation. Based in the Texas Medical Center in Houston, EnMed prepares students to become “physicianeers” — medical professionals with expertise in medicine and engineering who are driven to design innovative, practical, and impactful solutions to revolutionize health care.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in applicable field
• Four years of progressively responsible experience in student services, recruitment, admissions, and/ or enrollment management
• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
• Ability to positively and professionally interact with educational constituents
• Strong public speaking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to develop recruitment strategies for highly competitive or specialized academic programs.
• Experience with admissions databases, CRM systems (e.g., AMP, Banner, Slate), and data analysis

Responsibilities

• Developing and implementing comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract highly qualified applicant pool.
• Represent the School of Engineering Medicine at local, regional, and national recruitment events, including fairs, conferences, and institutional visits.
• Build and maintain relationships with universities, pre-health/engineering advisors, pre-health/engineering organizations, and pipeline programs.
• In collaboration with the marketing and communications team, assist in designing targeted communication plans, including presentations, publications, and digital content, to promote the School of Engineering Medicine’s mission, vision, and unique programs.
• Organize and coordinate on-campus and virtual recruitment events, including open houses, information sessions, and preview days.
• Track, analyze, and report on recruitment metrics to assess effectiveness and inform future strategies.
• Under the supervision of the Directory, assist in developing enrollment targets and strategies aligned with institutional goals.
• Monitor enrollment trends and applicant demographics to inform strategic planning.
• Under the leadership of the Director, assist in developing and implementing yield initiatives to ensure admitted students are successfully matriculated.
• Provide advice and support to prospective and admitted students and families throughout the admission and enrollment process.
• Contribute to retention-focused initiatives by facilitating a smooth transition from admission to matriculation.
• Assist in coordinating the admissions cycle, including application review, candidate communications, interview scheduling, and decision processes.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and admissions committee members to ensure a fair, transparent, and efficient admissions process.
• Maintain expertise with admissions systems and databases, ensuring accurate and timely processing of applications.
• Support the development and training of faculty and staff participating in recruitment and admissions activities.
• Under the leadership of the Director, assist in drafting, implementing, and updating policies and procedures that ensure consistency, compliance, and best practices in recruitment, admissions, and enrollment management.
• Ensure compliance with Texas A&M University, state, and national accreditation standards.
• Regularly assess and refine processes to improve efficiency, applicant experience, and program outcomes.
• Document and communicate policy updates to stakeholders in a clear and timely manner.
• Compile data and generate reports.
