About The Position

The recruiter for the College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) is highly collaborative, serving as the welcoming face of the College for prospective students and their families, using two-way engagement to turn interest into enrollment. This role focuses on the enrollment of priority target student audiences, with an emphasis on yield activities. The position involves building relationships with prospective students, families, and partner institutions, serving as the CEAS liaison for these groups. The coordinator will provide relevant content regarding UWM and/or CEAS programs, career opportunities, admission requirements, support services, and related opportunities through various communication channels. They will also respond to questions and admissions issues, manage group tour requests, build and manage the CEAS Student Ambassadors corps, and foster relationships with high school educators and international university partners. Additionally, the role involves planning and supporting recruitment, yield, and student success activities and events, serving as the lead liaison between the office and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Graduate School admissions office. The position also requires strategic planning, documentation, and evaluation of yield recruitment efforts, utilizing the campus Customer Relationship Management system (Slate).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years’ experience in recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, student services, marketing, outreach, or a related field.
  • Experience presenting information to groups and individuals.
  • Experience using databases, CRM systems, or other data-tracking systems.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the CEAS liaison for prospective students and admission partners, providing relevant content regarding UWM and/or CEAS programs, career opportunities, admission requirements, support services and related opportunities.
  • Respond to questions and admissions issues for prospective students, seeking out and providing answers from other UWM units as needed.
  • Maintain ongoing, personalized engagement with prospective students and their families.
  • Manage group tour requests, developing engaging visit opportunities in tandem with the K-12 STEM Outreach Coordinator.
  • Build and manage CEAS Student Ambassadors corps, to provide student-to-student engagement.
  • Foster relationships with high school educator partners, in tandem with the K-12 STEM Outreach Coordinator.
  • Serve as the liaison for building international university partnerships, working closely with the Dean’s Office.
  • Develop and implement virtual information sessions to inspire and encourage students and families to pursue UWM enrollment.
  • Develop and execute welcome sessions for internationally-enrolled student cohorts at UWM.
  • Plan and support recruitment, yield, and student success activities and events, including but not limited to: On-campus undergraduate weekly information sessions and building tours, Meet UWM, Admitted Students Days, Preview Day (undergraduate), Graduate School Open House, Virtual Admitted Student Information Sessions (graduate).
  • Plan and support student success activities and events that strengthen engagement, belonging and connections to CEAS resources and opportunities.
  • Serve as the lead liaison between the office and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Graduate School admissions office.
  • Strategically plan, document and evaluate yield recruitment efforts, working with the CEAS Marketing Manager.
  • Create, implement and assess yield recruitment initiatives.
  • Utilize the campus Customer Relationship Management system (Slate) to strategically target relevant leads, document all points of engagement with prospective students and evaluate results.
  • Document and analyze results to demonstrate alignment with enrollment goals.
  • Carry out or assist with other special projects or activities as assigned.
