About The Position

The Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals & Licensing (DIAL) is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible individual to join our team as a Direct Care Worker Registry Administrative Support Assistant 3 for the Health and Safety Division. DIAL is a multifaceted regulatory agency charged with protecting the health, safety, and well-being of Iowans. DIAL’s Health Facilities Division is responsible for inspecting and licensing health care providers and suppliers to ensure the health and safety of vulnerable Iowans. The Administrative Support Assistant 3 position is responsible for receiving, processing, and managing data related to the Direct Care Worker Registry and Healthcare Employment Agency registrations in accordance with state and federal regulations. The Administrative Support Assistant 3 will maintain accurate, up-to-date records for tracking and reporting. To accomplish our Mission, the individual selected for this position will provide outstanding customer service and management services to the agency.

Requirements

  • Two years of full-time work experience in general office, clerical, data entry/processing, or related work.
  • A total of two years of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
  • Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 2 or eighteen months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 1.
  • Within a period of time after hire, as determined by the appointing authority, employees in this class may be required to type at least 40 WPM net as demonstrated by the completion of a typing examination.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor all aspects of certification of Certified Nurse Aides
  • Accurately and thoroughly document all applications, registrations, and reciprocity, enforcement actions, ensuring clarity and neutrality for Certified Nurse Aides and Healthcare Employment Agencies.
  • Prepare and run reports and queries from the healthcare database.
  • Plan and conduct training for testing entities.
  • Conduct statistical studies from the certified healthcare database.
