Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of administrative, clerical, or office support experience
  • Experience using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office or similar tools)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organized records

  • Associate degree or relevant college coursework
  • Experience working in higher education or a similar complex organization
  • Experience interacting with the public or providing customer service
  • Experience creating and managing requisitions, purchase orders, or financial records
  • Experience handling confidential or sensitive information
  • Experience using Banner, Internet Native, or similar enterprise systems

Responsibilities

  • Establish, maintain, and ensure compliance of departmental records and documentation
  • Develop and maintain efficient filing and recordkeeping systems
  • Interpret and apply university policies, procedures, and administrative directives
  • Track expenditures and assist with budget monitoring to support efficient operations
  • Compile financial data and assist in preparing budget-related materials
  • Assist with purchasing processes, requisitions, and order tracking
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for faculty, students, and external stakeholders
  • Respond to and prepare correspondence related to departmental programs
  • Provide accurate information and guidance on department policies and procedures
  • Support faculty and student documentation and records management
  • Coordinate travel arrangements and assist with scheduling needs
  • Maintain calendars, leave records, and prioritize communications for leadership
  • Assist with development or revision of departmental procedures and workflows
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery
  • Support departmental projects, events, and initiatives
  • May supervise administrative support staff and assist with performance feedback
