About The Position

This position serves as the customer service representative and is the human contact for Food and Nutrition Services recipients with questions concerning the Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and access to benefits. Position engages in problem solving using recipient information, data from an administrative terminal, NC FAST database, on-line information guide and online manual. The Division of Social Services (DSS) provides direct services that address issues of poverty, family violence and exploitation. We aim to prevent abuse, neglect and exploitation of vulnerable citizens, and promote self-reliance and self-sufficiency for individuals and families.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be able to use Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook).
Ability to navigate web-based applications and hyperlinked scripting guides.
Ability to read, understand, and apply program policies to identify the root cause of a client issue and develop an effective and efficient solution, utilizing web-based applications and scripting guides.
Skills and experience necessary to perform telephone client services using modern VOIP phone systems.
Ability to handle high-volume calls (150 – 200 calls per day) promptly and efficiently.
