About The Position

The College of Arts & Sciences at Georgia State University is seeking to hire an experienced Administrative Specialist I to support the Faculty Affairs Unit within the Dean's Office. This role involves gathering, compiling, archiving, and formatting data related to faculty research, teaching, and service for faculty reviews and promotion applications. The position also supports petitions for tenure-on-appointment, emeritus status, clock stoppage, and graduate faculty status. Work is primarily conducted in the online review system, Interfolio, with additional administrative support provided via SharePoint for the College's 560 faculty. The role also assists in monitoring the Faculty Review Services non-person email account.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year administrative experience, OR high school diploma or GED and five years administrative experience, OR a combination of education and related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain records of faculty review activity, including creating templates for structured reviews, formatting and proofreading final drafts of structured reviews and promotion applications.
  • Interface with sources of faculty review data outside of the Dean's office, such as student evaluation instrument data, department-level evaluations, and external review letters of scholarship.
  • Create, update, and manage FRS web content on a quarterly basis.
  • Collect, edit, write, design, format, construct, and update website pages for the Faculty Affairs website, including video capturing and editing for website uploads.
  • Develop and maintain resources to support department- and college-level review of faculty, including preparing and disseminating materials guiding faculty through review processes.
  • Provide support to the Faculty Review Services Coordinator in developing training materials for review committees.
  • Develop and disseminate materials to support department chairs and P&T committees in their review of TT & NTT faculty.
  • Provide materials as requested to the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs in the creation and revision of faculty review policies.
  • Work with the Administrative Specialist supporting A&S Faculty Affairs to develop up-to-date content regarding faculty review for dissemination.
  • Provide ongoing clerical and office support to the Faculty Review Services Coordinator to develop and innovate faculty review processes, ensuring compliance with USG and GSU faculty review policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
