About The Position

This position supports the Human Resources (HR) administration and management within South central District. This position also serves as the region's administrative liaison and assists the Regional Training coordinator. Duties include but are not limited to; assisting in Human Resource functionalities inclusive of recruitment, personnel request changes, position control and maintenance, process/compliance training, commercial driver's license management and compliance, performance management support, and employee relations related activities. Collaborates with leadership within the districts and partners with central human resources. Including procurement activities for the district, facilities and asset management, and payroll support.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resources administration and applicable Federal and Arizona Revised Statutes
  • Knowledge of ADOA Personnel Systems and Rules
  • Knowledge of Procurement laws, codes, and regulations
  • Knowledge of computer programs and software including Google Workspace and Adobe Acrobat
  • Skill in oral and written communication techniques
  • Skill in work organization, multi-tasking and time management
  • Skill in interpreting statutes, rules, policies and procedures
  • Skill in customer service and employee relations
  • Skill in problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Skill in supervisory, personnel management, and training techniques

  • Must possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license.
  • Must complete all required training and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks.
  • Must maintain acceptable driving records.
  • Must complete all required driver training.
  • Must maintain the statutorily required liability insurance if operating a personally owned vehicle on state business.
  • All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Nice To Haves

  • Three years administrative experience supporting a large number of employees and managers.
  • Advanced experience with Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Works with highly confidential information.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Serves as a liaison between the region’s management team and HR.
  • Serves as administrative lead for the District.
  • Organizes training and work assignments.
  • Coaches and develops other administrative staff.
  • Evaluates training requirements for the District inclusive of sending notifications for compliance, and coordinating and scheduling necessary classes.
  • Promotes adherence to the federally required drug and alcohol DOT testing for CDL drivers.
