About The Position

The Department of Labor & Industry’s Bureau of Workers’ Compensation is seeking a motivated Administrative Officer 1 to support the Medical Cost Containment Chief in managing key division programs and complex administrative operations. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen program integrity, ensure compliance, and apply your leadership and analytical skills in meaningful public service work. This role supports the management of several medical cost containment programs and helps guide contractor oversight, staff supervision, and policy review. The position requires careful analysis, clear communication, and consistent coordination across multiple stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and bachelor's degree; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Division Chief with oversight of fee schedules, utilization review, impairment rating evaluation, and accessibility studies
  • Review vendor reports, identify concerns, and coordinate communication among Bureau, Department, and contractors
  • Respond to inquiries, provide guidance on medical fee schedules, and represent the Bureau in various program areas
  • Study legislative changes, case law, and trends to recommend updates to policies, procedures, and operations
  • Lead clerical staff, develop cross training plans, and ensure compliance with Workers Compensation Act provisions
