Administrative Officer

Indian Health Service•Inscription House, AZ

About The Position

The Administrative Officer leads administrative operations supporting high-quality, culturally responsive care for American Indian and Alaska Native communities through the Indian Health Service. The role oversees departmental operations and supervisors, monitors services and performance, develops strategic plans and procedures, and manages administrative functions including contracts, budgets, compliance, quality improvement, and reporting. The position may include acting HSA responsibilities and may require a one-year supervisory or managerial probationary period upon selection or placement. The position is subject to federal employment conditions, including U.S. citizenship, background and financial suitability reviews, E-Verify, direct deposit, and required identification. Because the role may involve contact or control over Indian children, applicable criminal-history screening requirements apply. Healthcare-facility duties may also require compliance with the IHS Employee Immunization Policy. This position has no promotion potential and is ineligible for the Bargaining Unit; a Confidential Financial Disclosure Form is required.
