About The Position

Requirements

  • One year as an Administrative Officer 3 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Six years of experience in progressively responsible and varied office management or staff work, including experience in personnel management, budgeting, or procurement; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four-year college or university; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Able to perform essential job functions.
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Leads financial, procurement, and administrative services that support the Bureau of Juvenile Justice Services and its statewide facilities.
  • Supervises staff, coordinates with multiple agencies, and ensures the accuracy of financial and operational systems.
  • Prepares annual budget requests, analyzes spending trends, and reviews funding needs for statewide youth facilities.
  • Reviews purchase requests, approves expenditures, and monitors procurement activities to ensure fiscal accountability.
  • Develops policies, analyzes financial reports, and oversees systems that support federal, state, and grant funded programs.
  • Serves as primary contact for audit activities, addresses financial questions, and ensures documentation meets required standards.
  • Coordinates large-scale initiatives, works with facility staff, and manages timelines for maintenance and technology improvement projects.
  • Directs accounting, timekeeping, and purchasing teams, and provides guidance to support accurate and efficient operations.
