About The Position

The Louisiana Motor Vehicle Commission (LMVC) is seeking an individual to fill an Administrative Coordinator vacancy in its Licensing Department. Administrative Coordinators are expected to be professional and possess a good working knowledge of the license requirements for motor vehicle/recreational product dealers, manufacturers, and distributors, as well as the financing of these products and GAP/Vehicle Protection products. The role requires effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with supervisors, team members, agency personnel, and licensees. Key competencies include accepting direction, communicating effectively, following policies and procedures, and demonstrating accountability.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in administrative services.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors, team members, agency personnel, and licensees.
  • Ability to accept and follow directions from those higher in the chain of command.
  • Ability to relay information correctly and appropriately.
  • Ability to comply with policies and procedures of the organization as well as State Civil Service rules, and all applicable federal and state laws.
  • Ability to take ownership of actions, behaviors, performance, decisions, and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Examines application packets submitted for licensure to ensure compliance with statutory mandates of the LMVC law and the MVSF Act, as well as the requirements of the rules and regulations promulgated under the provisions of the LMVC and the MVSF.
  • Investigates and analyzes data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant to determine accuracy, authenticity, statutory compliance, and completeness of factual information to document the determination of eligibility and qualification for licensure.
  • Investigates, researches, and analyzes areas of responsibility of motor vehicle dealers and recreational product dealers to determine if other dealers have a right of protest pursuant to the statute.
  • Issues the right of protest notices to dealers of their statutory rights.
  • Sets up a monitoring system for the statutory time frame for protest.
  • Assists in setting formal hearings if a protest is received.
  • Notifies appropriate parties if no protest is received, allowing them to proceed.
  • Reviews documents to determine eligibility for and, if approved, issues licenses for all LMVC and MVSF applicants to do business in the state of Louisiana.
  • Assists the Investigations Division with special investigations, preparation of reports of fraud, and preparation for administrative hearings in the denial of initial licensure.
  • Advises applicants and/or licensees of the status of the application and/or requests relative to the requisite information for further disposition of the same.
