About The Position

The Louisiana Department of Public Safety & Corrections – Corrections Services, specifically at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center, is seeking a detail-oriented, dependable, and highly motivated individual to serve as an Administrative Coordinator 4 within the Mental Health Department. This position provides advanced administrative support to clinical, programmatic, and supervisory staff who deliver essential mental-health services to the offender population. Requirements

  • Three years of experience in administrative services.
  • Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles and prepares information for special assignments and reports, gathering data from multiple sources to support departmental needs.
  • Responds to inquiries by telephone and in writing, drafting clear and professional correspondence and preparing letters, memos, and other written materials as required.
  • Performs advanced clerical and administrative support functions for the Mental Health Division, including typing, document preparation, and data entry.
  • Operates computer systems and software applications to input, retrieve, and generate reports essential to departmental operations.
  • Organizes and maintains confidential files and records in accordance with departmental standards and applicable policies.
  • Manages filing systems for all aspects of the division, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and security.
  • Sorts and distributes incoming mail, processes inter-institutional correspondence, and identifies items requiring immediate attention to ensure timely responses.
  • Processes and enters employee time records and assists timekeepers by generating and distributing timekeeping reports.
  • Ensures accuracy and compliance with payroll procedures and deadlines.
