About The Position

This temporary summer position, offered through the Canada Summer Jobs Program, will support various departments by assisting with database entry, document updates and organization, filing, and general administrative duties.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience with data entry, attention to detail, and accuracy
  • Demonstrated computer expertise working with Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in various computer software systems to track, update and implement records
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to work in a busy environment with multiple priorities
  • Capacity to prioritize, think critically with the ability to exercise judgement and work with minimal supervision
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the program
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or someone to whom refugee status has been granted/conferred
  • Have a valid social insurance number

Responsibilities

  • Update and review volunteer records to ensure they are current, accurate and meet the required documentation
  • Perform file audit of volunteer records to ensure compliance with Hospice Standards
  • Destruction of volunteer records (if needed) as per Hospice Records Retention Policies and Procedures
  • Data entry from hard copy files to digital through scanning and or saving documents as pictures
  • Following up with volunteers if documentation is missing, and effectively communicating what is needed to complete their file
  • Updating Community & Supportive Care Department policies and procedures as required
  • Other administrative duties as assigned
