About The Position

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) invites applications for Administrative Assistant IV, Human Resources Department, Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. The Administrative Assistant will support the Director, Talent Acquisition and Onboarding, in addition to supporting the HR staff. This position will assist the Director by working independently and providing administrative assistance in resolving questions and issues. Will act as an administrative liaison in conferring with departmental administrative assistants, managers, and representatives of other organizations. Responsibilities will also include coordinating and planning Director’s schedule and appointments related to HR. This position will provide high-level administrative support to the Director and the HR Team by conducting research, preparing reports, handling confidential information requests, and performing clerical functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, scheduling meetings, purchasing transactions, supporting Workday recruitment and onboarding processes. This position will act as a gatekeeper and escalate relevant information to the Director.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education.
  • Four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience, including experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources.
  • OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service.
  • OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in human resources or working in the human resources department.
