About The Position

A full-time university staff position is available in the Teacher Education Program beginning July 12, 2026. The working title for this assignment is Administrative Assistant with an official title of Administrative Assistant II. This is an expected-to-continue assignment which requires a six-month probationary period [or project assignment expected to last at least one year]. The expected hourly hiring salary will be based on qualifications and experience [or state minimum starting salary.

  • advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) to organize meetings, communicate effectively, generate a variety of documents, and maintain records
  • ability to learn the Teacher Education Program database
  • ability to learn new systems, software, and processes quickly
  • ability to conduct tasks professionally and confidentially
  • ability to multi-task and work efficiently and effectively
  • ability to be flexible and work collaboratively as part of a team serving all of the Teacher Education programs including Department Chairs, the Director of the Teacher Education Program, the Certification Officer, and the Field Placement Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Provide reception for the Teacher Education Program
  • Provide support to the coordinator/director of the Teacher Education Program
  • Organize and manage procedures and timelines for CBC requirements and self-disclosure forms
  • Organize and manage procedures and timelines related to TB testing
  • Maintain and renew affiliation agreements with schools, districts and institutions.
  • Manage Teacher Education Program scholarships and awards
  • Process and track travel expense reports.
  • Order materials and supplies for the Teacher Education Program
  • Manage, maintain records and provide reports related to the budget and travel.
  • Organize events for the Teacher Education Program.
  • Provide support for certification officer and licensing processes.
  • Collect, organize, and communicate data for required state/federal reporting purposes.
  • Maintain and update Teacher Education Program web pages
  • Develop and execute a social media strategy for the Teacher Education Program.
  • Assist with recruitment and engagement events for the Teacher Education Program.
  • Provide support and backup for the field experience database including data entry, document generation, and reports.
  • Provide support and backup for the field experience coordinator and the field experience assistant.
  • Other duties as assigned.
