About The Position

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant 4 in the Faculty Affairs office. The position supports Faculty Affairs through comprehensive recruitment, onboarding, team supervision, and operational coordination. Responsibilities include collaborating with leadership, department chairs, and recruitment partners to identify faculty staffing needs; develop and manage academic, affiliate, and community faculty recruitment processes; and ensure compliance with institutional and partnership requirements. The role serves as an onboarding specialist for new faculty, coordinating system access, credentials, training, and orientation resources, while managing NetID and appointment timelines. Additionally, the position provides supervisory leadership for administrative assistants and student workers, oversees staff recruitment and onboarding/offboarding processes, and ensures continuity of administrative support within the unit. The role also represents Faculty Affairs in orientations with Faculty Development and committees and serves as backup support to ensure efficient departmental operations.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent education and four years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: providing administrative/program support to professional staff and management; performing secretarial duties in support of a manager; coordinating communications between the manager, staff and program clientele; supervision of subordinate staff; researching information from internal and external sources.
  • OR One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant III in Nevada State service.
  • OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with leadership, department chairs, and recruitment partners to identify faculty staffing needs.
