About The Position

This position is for an Administrative Assistant 3 within the Section of Rural and Community Health Systems, Division of Public Health. The role provides essential administrative support for travel planning, personnel management, accounts payable, financial management, and procurement. The Administrative Assistant 3 is responsible for ensuring compliance with State, Department, and Section policies and procedures, and for developing, evaluating, and adapting internal processes as needed. Requirements

  • One year of experience performing journey-level technical duties in one or more administrative functional areas such as human resources, accounting, administration, and procurement.
  • Two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours equals 1 year).
  • Two years of entry-level technical experience in one or more administrative functional areas such as human resources, accounting, administration, and procurement.
  • Two years of any combination of post-secondary education, vocational education, and/or entry-level technical experience in one or more administrative functional areas such as human resources, accounting, administration, and procurement.
  • Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving: uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one’s knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
  • Customer Service: Anticipates and meets the needs of both internal and external customers. Delivers high-quality products and services; is committed to continuous improvement.
  • Manages and Organizes Information: Identifies a need; gathers, organizes, and maintains information; determines its importance and accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods.
  • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
  • Computer Skills: Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work.
  • Three professional references, whom we may contact by phone, are required. One of these references must be your current or most recent supervisor.
  • Current performance evaluation, if available.
  • A copy of academic transcripts (unofficial is okay; please ensure that the institution name/URL is listed on the transcripts) is used to verify that you meet the minimum qualifications.
  • If education is completed in a foreign college or university, it may be used to meet the above requirements, if applicable. If utilizing this education, you must show that the education credentials have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in the interpretation of foreign educational credentials and that such education has been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs or an accredited U.S. state university reports the other institution as one whose transcript is given full value, or full value is given in subject areas applicable to the curricula at the state university. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
