About The Position

As an Administrative Assistant 2 with the Department of State, you will step into a leadership role that supports key licensing activities. Each day brings new tasks that help applicants, staff, and the public receive timely and accurate information. Your work will strengthen operations and contribute to the success of multiple professional boards. This position offers a chance to grow your skills while serving an important statewide mission. This role provides supervision, guidance, and direction to staff who manage application processing and board support activities. It serves as a resource to several professional boards and helps coordinate daily operational needs.

Requirements

  • One year of experience as a staff assistant to an administrative officer or as a technician in a staff service of a large organization; and such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction, coaching, and oversight to licensing and certification evaluators
  • Manage daily workload priorities and monitor progress across all assigned tasks
  • Review applications, determine eligibility, and refer complex cases as needed
  • Assist board administrators by helping maintain manuals and responding to inquiries
  • Develop forms, assist with system improvements, and support division procedures
  • Participate in interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new clerical staff
