About The Position

The Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join their team as an Administrative Assistant 2 within the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). This role supports DDD's Cultural Competency Plan/Limited English Proficiency Plan, ensuring cross-cultural and linguistically competent practices in service delivery. DDD aims to provide flexible, high-quality, and member-driven services to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, promoting independence and community engagement. Applicants must not be licensed or certified by the DDD Office of Licensing, Certification and Regulation, nor have a principal interest in a DDD Qualified Vendor Agreement, nor be employed or subcontracted by a DDD Qualified Vendor.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of responsible administrative experience; or a Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the assignment from an accredited college or university and one year of the required experience; or a Master's degree in a field appropriate to the assignment from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates specialized administrative work to support both Cultural Competency Manager and Coordinator.
  • Note-taking of meeting minutes.
  • Organizes meeting agendas and manages calendars.
  • Reviews, reads and researches materials and reports.
  • Report preparation.
  • Assists with formatting outgoing correspondence, letters and memos.
  • Organizes and maintains a shared electronic filing system.
  • Communicates and coordinates with other DDD units, external stakeholders and vendors as instructed.
  • Uses computer software to create and manage databases, spreadsheets, and reports.
