About The Position

The Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant 1 with outstanding organizational skills to join the Bureau of Planning and Research. This role offers the opportunity to perform and coordinate a wide variety of administrative duties and provide guidance to staff within the Bureau. The position involves providing essential administrative, budgeting, and coordination support to ensure the Bureau operates efficiently, including financial tasks, project coordination, and daily office responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Review purchase needs, assist staff, and process requisitions and receipts through the Commonwealth’s Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) system.
  • Monitor budget activity, help with adjustments, and communicate financial information with staff.
  • Review and process invoices and resolve errors to ensure timely payment tracking.
  • Track commitments and prepare financial reports to support Bureau operations.
  • Support annual planning and research tasks by preparing estimates and organizing program materials.
  • Maintain files, manage training tasks, support timekeeping, and coordinate communication needs for the Bureau.
