About The Position

COMPA Industries is searching for qualified candidates for an Administrative Assistant 1 position at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) in Los Alamos, New Mexico. This role will help preserve and organize critical records by converting physical documents into electronic formats and ensuring proper records management practices are followed. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining organized, accessible documentation while supporting day-to-day administrative operations. This position requires working onsite 100% of the time at TA-35 in Los Alamos, NM. Candidates must be able to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods and moving boxes of documents. Candidates must be eligible to obtain A-Level Access and work with confidential information in an uncleared environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work onsite at TA-35 in Los Alamos, NM.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and move boxes of documents.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work independently.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Eligible to obtain required site access authorization.

Responsibilities

  • Scan, digitize, and organize physical documents into electronic filing systems.
  • Prepare documents for scanning and ensure accurate digital record creation.
  • Shred physical documents in accordance with established procedures and records retention requirements.
  • Maintain electronic and hardcopy filing systems.
  • Track and convey messages and correspondence as needed.
  • Generate internal and external correspondence.
  • Coordinate calendars, schedules, and meeting logistics.
  • Assist with ordering office supplies and supporting general office operations.
  • Serve as a resource regarding established administrative policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Perform other administrative support duties as assigned.
