About The Position

St. John's University, established in 1870, is seeking an Administration & Economics Adjunct Professor for the Spring 2027 semester. The university has two New York City campuses, international locations in Rome, Italy; Limerick, Ireland; and Paris, France; and study abroad locations worldwide. St. John's offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate programs and is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Division of Administration & Economics houses programs in Fashion Studies, Enterprise Regulation (Profit and Non-Profit), and Business Administration. These programs focus on providing students with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to succeed in their respective industries, with an emphasis on global perspectives, business fundamentals, liberal arts competencies, and practical application through internships. Internships are an integral part of the programs and can be completed at various university locations.

Responsibilities

Cover financial accounting concepts including external and internal reporting, communication of financial information, basic accounting framework, income reporting, financial position, cash flows, the accounting process, accruals, and financial statement elements.
Teach an introduction to the fundamentals of the economic system, focusing on a "macro-economic" approach to employment, prices, and economic stability in the context of globalization. Cover fundamental tools of microeconomics (individual decision-making, markets) to provide students with a fundamental understanding of economic thinking and application to real-world scenarios.
Instruct students on business principles, marketing research, advertising, and strategic management, preparing them for industry careers. Introduce problems and processes of management, with an emphasis on the principles and practices of management and the functions of the executive.
