About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Linux Administrator to join our teams. Responsibilities include working as a full member of an agile team responsible for Unix operational support and infrastructure projects. The role involves managing client requests and incidents, acting as a trusted business partner with transparency and responsibility. The position participates in 'Follow-the-Sun' support covering Europe and Asia, proposing innovative, scalable, and industrialized solutions to automate repetitive tasks and improve overall team efficiency. Active participation in company-wide automation initiatives in collaboration with multiple functional teams is expected. Activities are managed according to the ITIL framework (change, incident, and request management). Integration into the team's operational routines and participation in planned overtime at least once a month is required. Close collaboration with the Level 1 support team based in Bangalore to continuously optimize service delivery is key. The role involves strengthening expertise in agile practices, with Scrum at the heart of team organization. Contribution to the design and development of APIs for automating IT operations (strong Python expertise required) and participation in the design and delivery of functional team products, providing technical expertise and architectural vision, supporting a large-scale environment of over 2,500 servers.

Requirements

  • Advanced expertise in Linux operating systems (RHEL): administration, lifecycle management, hardening, and performance optimization
  • Solid problem-solving skills at the kernel, process, memory, and I/O levels
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus, custom health checks)
  • Development and scripting skills (Python, Bash, Ansible, Puppet)
  • Experience in production-level automation, API integration, and tool development
  • Knowledge of volume management (LVM, multipathing) and file system optimization (XFS, ext4)
  • Expertise with Puppet: modular design, Hiera, environment management, large-scale configuration deployment
  • Experience with cloud technologies (hybrid architectures, provisioning, integration)
  • Proficiency in Red Hat Identity Management (IdM), LDAP integration, and authentication/authorization mechanisms
  • Knowledge of enterprise hardware (HP/DELL x86), including firmware, BIOS, and RAID
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP and associated services (LDAP, DHCP, DNS, SMTP, NFS) and troubleshooting complex dependencies
  • Experience with enterprise backup platforms (e.g., NetBackup), restoration validation, and disaster recovery preparation
  • Knowledge of SAN environments, Fibre Channel storage, NFS, and multipath I/O configuration
  • Understanding of high availability and failover mechanisms
  • Experience in patch management, compliance, and vulnerability remediation
  • Strong root cause analysis (RCA) and production problem management skills
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects (e.g., GitHub), including code reviews and documentation
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English, both oral and written. English is required as the position involves communicating with clients and partners outside of Quebec.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Red Hat Satellite (content views, lifecycle environments, large-scale patch management)
  • Knowledge of the Elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash) for centralized logging
  • Experience with Software Factory tools (e.g., Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines) and continuous delivery practices
  • Knowledge of OpenStack (compute, network, storage, operations)
