About The Position

This position involves teaching Film Color Correction and Grading in the Evening School program. The role requires preparing course syllabi, managing the classroom and digital learning management system (Canvas), mentoring students, and providing feedback on their work. The instructor will teach and demonstrate professional workflows in DaVinci Resolve, conduct demonstrations, critiques, and lab instruction, and discuss portfolio development and career preparation. The position also covers collaboration with filmmakers in various aspects of production and advising students on creative and technical challenges related to final color finishing and delivery for different platforms. Maintaining current knowledge of industry standards and technologies is essential.

Requirements

  • BA or BFA in Film Production (degree must be completed by the start date).
  • 2+ years of professional experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of color management, image correction, look development, and delivery standards.
  • Understanding of how color supports visual storytelling.
  • Knowledge of current industry practices and post-production pipelines.
  • Must relocate and/or reside in Utah for the duration of employment.
  • All new employees who are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be required to hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
