About The Position

Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) is seeking candidates for adjunct teaching positions in the Master of Science in Medicine – Physician Assistant program. The program is looking for instructors to teach courses in areas such as Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacotherapeutics, Cardiology, Hematology/Oncology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, and Orthopedics and Rheumatology, or other related course components. Responsibilities begin in August 2026. Qualified applicants should possess an advanced degree in basic science, medicine (PA, MD, DO), or a related field, and demonstrate effective teaching and service in either the classroom or clinical setting, while embracing the university's mission. Requirements

• Advanced degree in basic science, medicine (PA, MD, DO) or a closely related field
• Potential for outstanding teaching as demonstrated by prior classroom or clinical teaching
• Thorough commitment to the concept of Christian liberal arts education and a desire to work in a Christian university
• Supportive of the religious and educational goals of the university and its sponsoring denomination
• Evidence of Christian commitment and active church involvement
• Agree to live in agreement with PLNU’s Community Life Covenant
• Successful completion of a background check

Benefits

• PLNU adjunct pay: Using a 3-unit full semester appointment as a pay guide, the adjunct pay range is $5,013 - $6,684. The units will determine the actual salary.
