About The Position

The Environmental Studies program at the University of Illinois Springfield has occasional need for adjunct (per course) instructors. Adjunct teaching requirements vary based on whether the position is for undergraduate or graduate programs. For undergraduate programs, a Master's degree or higher in the discipline or a related subfield is required. If the Master's degree is in a different field, at least 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline of application are necessary. For graduate programs, a terminal degree determined by the discipline, along with a record of research, scholarship, or achievement appropriate for the graduate program, is required. Adjunct faculty are required to complete mandatory annual employee training, including Ethics and Preventing Harassment & Discrimination, to maintain employment eligibility. Additionally, adjunct faculty teaching online courses must complete the Building Digital Community (BDC) self-paced course during their first semester teaching online to be eligible for future online teaching assignments. Requirements

For undergraduate programs: Master's degree or higher in the discipline or subfield.
