About The Position

The University of Olivet, a liberal arts institution with a historical commitment to inclusion, diversity, and social justice, seeks in-person Adjunct Instructors in Nursing for the Fall 2026 semester and beyond. Instructors with experience in clinical, Skills Lab or Sim Lab are particularly encouraged to apply. This posting represents positions available for in-person roles, typically from 0630-1900 on Tuesdays at various facilities, with labs or Sim labs on the Olivet campus. Adjunct instructor positions are part-time, with teaching assignments varying from semester to semester, and most classes meeting once each week for 12 weeks. The University of Olivet's Nursing program utilizes a clinically integrated model that emphasizes hands-on skill development, evidence-based practice, and professional formation. The program welcomes students at varying levels of clinical experience and offers instruction across clinical practice settings, nursing simulation labs, and skills laboratory environments in small, relationship-focused cohorts. Alongside technical clinical competency, the program emphasizes a broad understanding of health across the lifespan and diverse patient populations. The program intentionally engages questions of ethical responsibility, professional character, and purposeful patient-centered care, integrating nursing practice with Olivet's commitment to Education for Individual and Social Responsibility. The university actively encourages members of historically underrepresented groups to apply, noting that students from underrepresented minorities constitute 26% of the current student body, with almost 20% identifying as African American, and approximately half of the student body being Pell grant eligible.
