About The Position

Jersey College is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with an MSN or higher who is committed to student success and preparing the next generation of nurses. The Nursing Instructor provides nursing instruction and clinical education to LPN/PN and RN students. Depending on program and campus needs, instruction may take place in classrooms, laboratories, simulation settings, and/or clinical environments, including long-term care, sub-acute, and acute clinical sites. The instructor supports students’ academic and professional development, evaluates their performance and competency, and helps them build the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors needed for nursing practice. The listed class is an RN class starting in November 2026, meeting Wednesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Jersey College describes itself as an institution focused on excellence and innovation in nursing education, with a vision of national recognition for high-quality nursing education and pathways for professional growth. Requirements

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or a higher nursing degree.
Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state.
At least 3 years of recent professional Registered Nurse experience.
Clinical experience relevant to the nursing courses and clinical experiences being taught.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a nursing specialty that contributes to student learning.
Strong commitment to nursing education and student success.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, faculty, clinical partners, and colleagues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to provide clear instruction and constructive feedback.
Ability to supervise and evaluate students in a clinical environment.
Strong clinical judgment and knowledge of current nursing practice.
Knowledge and experience in the assigned nursing specialty.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Nice To Haves

Prior nursing education or teaching experience.
Experience teaching LPN/PN and/or RN students in a classroom, laboratory, simulation, or clinical setting.
Experience precepting, mentoring, or orienting nurses or nursing students.
Experience with clinical evaluation and competency-based education.
Experience using learning management systems and other educational technology.

Responsibilities

Provide classroom, laboratory, simulation, and/or clinical instruction to LPN/PN and RN students, as assigned.
Provide clinical instruction at long-term care, sub-acute, and acute clinical sites.
Create a positive, supportive learning environment that fosters academic growth and professional development.
Deliver instruction appropriate to the educational level and needs of LPN/PN and RN students.
Supervise students in clinical environments and promote safe, professional nursing practice.
Evaluate student performance and clinical competence in accordance with program philosophy, objectives, policies, and established standards.
Use appropriate evaluation methods to measure student learning, progress, and competency.
Prepare accurate and timely student progress and grade reports.
Maintain accurate and timely attendance records.
Provide students with guidance, feedback, and support to promote successful learning outcomes.
Maintain current knowledge and expertise in the nursing specialty and clinical practice environment.
Attend faculty meetings, training sessions, and other required academic or campus meetings.
Maintain professional qualifications through continuing education, in-service training, and academic coursework as appropriate.
Collaborate with faculty, administration, clinical partners, and other members of the academic community.
Maintain professional standards and contribute to a positive learning environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Program Dean, or Campus Administration.
