About The Position

The Department of Public Administration at the University of North Texas seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor Pool. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses may vary and openings occur periodically based on department needs. Courses can be from our undergraduate and MPA programs. The department offers a Ph.D. in Public Administration, Master's degrees in Public Administration (including an MPA ranked nationally for excellence), and Bachelor's degrees in Public Administration (Urban Policy and Planning, and Nonprofit Leadership Studies). They also offer minors and certificate programs. An internship coordinator assists students in bridging academic study and professional success. The university values diversity and welcomes candidates with experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak various languages.

Requirements

  • PhD in public administration or related field of study, or a master's degree in public administration with a strong record of professional work experience.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned terminal degree (MPA or closely related field)
  • Previous teaching experience at the college or university level, including online instruction.
  • Experience using instructional technologies and learning management systems (LMS) to support teaching and learning.
  • Experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.
