About The Position

The Department of Public Administration seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor Pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester, and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. Courses may include any courses in our undergraduate and MPA programs.

Requirements

  • PhD in public administration or related field of study, or a master's degree in public administration with a strong record of professional work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Earned terminal degree (MPA or closely related field)
  • Previous teaching experience at the college or university level, including online instruction.
  • Experience using instructional technologies and learning management systems (LMS) to support teaching and learning.
  • Experience with HSI/MSIs and/or who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses in undergraduate and MPA programs.
  • Communicate with others to exchange information.
