About The Position

Heidelberg University is seeking an Adjunct Instructor of Horn to join our School of Music and Theater in providing instruction to undergraduate students in any of the following curricula: Bachelor of Arts in Music, or Bachelor of Music in Music Education. The Adjunct Instructor of Horn will report to the Chair of the School of Music and Theater.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a horn emphasis or Bachelor of Music in Horn Performance
• 2 years experience teaching private lessons
• Ability to relate to a diverse cross-section of individuals.
• Must demonstrate impactful diagnostic and prescriptive pedagogical skill.
• Demonstrated strong commitment to student centered active learning and student engagement activities.
• Commitment to and a demonstrated record of academic and artistic excellence.
• Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Master of Music in Horn Performance

Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Studio Horn, including both major and non-major lessons.
• Utilize innovative and collaborative teaching methods in support of the School's mission and learning objectives.
• Participate in School of Music and Theater recruiting events and audition days upon request.
• Participate in instrumental jury assessment at the conclusion of each semester of instruction.
