About The Position

The Adjunct Instructor of Nursing is a part-time, as-needed appointment that supports the School of Nursing in achieving program and student learning outcomes through instruction in the laboratory, clinical, and classroom settings. Adjunct faculty report to the lead course instructor and the Department Chair of Nursing. The teaching load is dependent on scheduling and course needs each semester; continued assignment is not guaranteed. Adjunct faculty are expected to maintain clinical competence and currency in their assigned teaching areas.

Requirements

  • An earned Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is required.
  • Clinical competence in the assigned specialty area.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Earned a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
  • Unencumbered, active Registered Nurse license in the State of Florida.
  • Current BLS certification (American Heart Association).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching or preceptor experience in an academic or healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with ATI products and ACEN accreditation standards.
  • Ability to meet clinical agency requirements, including background check, drug screening, and immunization/health documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction and student supervision in assigned laboratory, clinical, and classroom settings.
  • Follow the course syllabus and instructional plan established by the lead course instructor.
  • Evaluate student clinical/laboratory performance and submit accurate, timely records of grades and attendance.
  • Communicate student progress and concerns to the lead course instructor.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clinical site staff that support the reputation of the Institution and the Registered Nursing Program.
  • Comply with Institutional, School of Nursing, and clinical agency policies and procedures.
