About The Position

Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) is seeking candidates for an Adjunct Instructor position in Computer Systems Engineering Technology. This is a candidate pool where resume reviews and interviews occur quarterly. Successful candidates will be placed in an active pool and may be notified of openings for immediate hire. Adjunct Instructor positions are part-time, semester-to-semester, non-benefited MCCC/MTA/DCE unit positions. STCC is a major resource for the economic vitality of Western Massachusetts, offering a variety of career programs and highly-regarded transfer programs. Requirements

Associate's degree within the field (Computer Systems Engineering Technology) or higher.
Two years or more of College teaching experience, high school teaching experience, or adult education experience.
Evidence of strong written and verbal communication skills to support interactions with diverse academic and non-academic audiences.
A valid certification in CompTIA A+ (required).
A valid certification in Cisco CCNA (required).
Be a Cisco certified instructor through the Cisco Networking Academy.
Good understanding of educational learning theory, as well as tutoring theory and practice.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
A commitment to working in a culturally diverse, urban community college.
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Must complete Information Awareness Security Training within thirty days of their orientation date and annually thereafter.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree or higher.
Four or more years of industry related experience.
Successful community college teaching experience.

Teaching experience with Early College students or at the High School level.
Commitment to the mission of the community college.
Experience building and facilitating asynchronous or hybrid courses using a standard learning management system.

Responsibilities

Instruct CSET lectures and hands-on labs for Cisco Networking 1&2, and CompTIA A+.
Conduct classes.
Prepare for instruction.
Assess student performance.
Provide student assistance by appointment.
Engage in professional development and required trainings.
Attend a limited number of faculty meetings.
Observe safety during the lab and demonstrate understanding of the technicalities involved in Cisco Networking and CompTIA A+ technologies.
Work-force training of students of all ages, genders, ethnicities, and creeds.
