CANDIDATE POOL - Adjunct Instructor, Electrical Engineering Technology
About The Position
Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) is seeking candidates for an Adjunct Instructor in Electrical Engineering Technology. This position is part of a candidate pool, with resume reviews and interviews conducted quarterly. Successful candidates will be placed in an active pool and may be contacted for immediate hire when openings arise. The adjunct faculty member, under the supervision of the Dean of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, is responsible for planning, delivering, and supervising instruction to a diverse student population. The role requires documented expertise in the teaching area and collaboration with faculty and staff to foster an environment of trust and respect. Adjunct Instructor positions are part-time, semester-to-semester, non-benefited MCCC/MTA/DCE unit positions.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Mechatronics.
- Two or more years of college, high school, or adult education experience.
- Experience teaching Programmable Logic Controls, Robotics, Sensors, Motor Controls, and Fluid Power.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering technology or engineering.
- Four years or more of industry experience.
- Successful community college teaching experience.
- Commitment to fostering inclusiveness, equity and diversity within the academic setting.
- Teaching experience with Early College students or at the High School level.
- Commitment to the mission of the community college.
- Experience building and facilitating asynchronous or hybrid courses using a standard learning management system.
Responsibilities
- Teaches a standard range of courses expected in the first two years of a degree program in the field.
- Teaching one or more courses in Electrical Engineering Technology (both lab and lecture).
- Provides relevant and timely feedback on student assignments, including participation.
- Compiles and reports grade-related information according to College policies, procedures, and deadlines.
