The School of Health Science and Wellness seeks adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, online and/or in person, in areas including Health and Physical Education, Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Sport Management, Tourism, Public Health, and Foods and Nutrition. Courses are primarily at the graduate level, though undergraduate assignments may also be available. Faculty are expected to deliver curriculum that engages students, maintains academic rigor, and provides timely communication and feedback. Placement in the adjunct faculty pool does not guarantee an assignment; assignments are made session by session according to program needs and candidates’ verified academic credentials and content expertise. Online courses are often delivered in accelerated seven-week sessions, though some follow a full-semester schedule. Adjunct faculty must manage the applicable instructional timeline while maintaining academic rigor, student engagement, and timely responsiveness. Online student support may be provided through Zoom, Microsoft Teams, telephone, or other approved methods at times that accommodate student needs. Online faculty must maintain a productive work environment that protects student privacy and confidentiality. In-person courses are held on campus at scheduled times. Online courses use Canvas, Northwest’s learning management system. Computers are not provided to online adjunct faculty.
