About The Position

Lesley University's Threshold Program is seeking a highly qualified adjunct faculty member to teach Community Navigation for the Fall Semester 2026. This in-person, on-campus course is designed for first-year students and aims to equip them with the skills and confidence to navigate the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) public transit system. Students will learn trip planning, route selection, and safety practices, enabling them to travel independently within the Lesley University, Cambridge, and Boston areas. These skills are crucial for their participation in classes and future internship opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a closely related field.
  • Prior experience working with children or adults with disabilities in a school setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to communicative, student-centered, inclusive, and equitable teaching practices.
  • Prior experience success using digital technology to achieve program goals.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Community Navigation course sections.
