About The Position

NHTI is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach Physical Assessment for the Fall 2026 semester. This part-time, adjunct position involves teaching both lecture and lab components of the Physical Assessment course (PEM-117) and its associated Integration Lab I (PEM-161). The course provides students with essential knowledge in physical assessment, focusing on practical applications and real-world relevance, including life span differences and assessment of acute and chronic patients. The Integration Lab I is scenario-driven, designed to develop team leadership skills and clinical decision-making, drawing upon knowledge from other core courses.

Requirements

  • Minimum of associate degree (bachelor’s or higher preferred) from a recognized college or university with a major study in nursing, health, education, emergency medicine, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a paramedic, nurse, or advanced medical provider (APRN, PA, MD/OD).
  • Current employment as a medical provider (prehospital preferred).
  • Licensure as a paramedic (New Hampshire preferred), nurse, or advanced medical provider (APRN, PA, MD/OD).
  • Paramedic applicants must have, or be willing to obtain, EMS Instructor I certification within 1 year.
  • Reside in NH, VT, ME, MA, RI, or CT.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in emergency medicine.
  • Experience as an educator (especially paramedic-level).
  • Preference given to applicants holding American Heart Association Instructor certifications in ACLS, PALS, and BLS.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the assigned course using provided curriculum and instructional materials aligned with program, state, and national standards.
  • Facilitate class discussions, assignments, and assessments to foster student engagement and learning.
  • Provide regular feedback to students and the program’s Lead Instructor and/or Program Coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Maintain courses on the college’s learning management system (LMS), keeping in compliance with ADA Title II, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
  • Maintain professional currency in the field and comply with college policies and standards.
