About The Position

Dominican University seeks a part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach Introduction to Microeconomics (Economics 101) during the Fall 2026 semester. Introduction to Microeconomics is a required course for all undergraduate business majors and fulfills the University's Core Curriculum requirement in the Social Sciences. The course will be delivered online and asynchronously from August 24, 2026, to October 16, 2026.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Economics or Master’s degree in Business Administration in a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated academic preparation and/or professional expertise appropriate to teaching undergraduate Microeconomics.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD in Economics or closely related discipline from an AACSB institution
  • Prior college-level teaching experience.
  • Experience teaching Economics in person or online, preferably in an asynchronous format.
  • Experience using Canvas or another learning management system.
  • Relevant professional or applied experience in economics.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver course instruction consistent with the approved syllabus and learning outcomes.
  • Prepare instructional materials, assignments, and assessments appropriate to the discipline.
  • Foster an engaging and inclusive learning environment that supports student success.
  • Submit grades and required academic records accurately and on time.
  • Maintain reasonable availability to students, including scheduled office hours.
  • Respond to student communications in a timely manner.
  • Administer course evaluations.
  • Follow university academic policies and student accommodation procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Associate Dean and the Department Chair regarding course delivery and academic matters.
