About The Position

San Francisco Bay University (SFBU) is seeking a forward-thinking and experienced Online Adjunct Professor of Marketing to deliver their MKT 541 course. This role involves working with proprietary AI technology to oversee the learning experiences of SFBU’s online MBA Pro+ students. The MBA Pro+ program is designed to provide personalized, flexibly-paced, and real-world-connected learning experiences for asynchronous online students, leveraging advanced technology. Students interact with faculty avatars for socratic discussions and feedback, while human faculty review and validate assessment recommendations. This is a part-time, non-exempt, remote position (CA preferred), with the MBA Pro+ launching in Fall 2026. SFBU is an innovative, nonprofit, WASC-accredited university located in Silicon Valley.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Successful prior experience with online asynchronous course delivery through a Learning Management System.
  • Generalized subject matter expertise in Marketing and the ability to oversee online courses within the MBA.
  • Demonstrated Experience incorporating best practices in online teaching and learning.
  • Successful prior experience leveraging the thoughtful incorporation of AI as a high-impact pedagogical tool.
  • A passion for mentoring and guiding students in their academic and professional growth.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and community partners.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and practice.

Responsibilities

  • Bring humanity, empathy, care, and compassion to the MBA Pro+ learning experiences by building robust professional relationships and guiding and encouraging them in their learning journey as they progress through the course
  • Build a sense of community amongst students by creating purposefully connective opportunities for both synchronous and asynchronous interactions through guest lectures, online meetups, and other such activities
  • Provide responsive and timely follow-up for students who are stuck, disengaged, or have questions that are not being addressed by the course avatar to the student’s satisfaction
  • Offer career advice and other professional coaching to help the student develop, clarify, and obtain short- and long-term career objectives
  • Conduct optional 60-minute synchronous seminars/open office hours twice each week
  • Review and validate student assessment data on a daily basis, troubleshooting any issues in a timely fashion
  • Continuous training and tuning of the course avatar and course materials to ensure the best possible course experience
  • Verify and validate students’ summative course assessments and enter grades for each student as they complete course requirements
