About The Position

The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Susquehanna University seeks a part-time adjunct faculty member to teach two in-person sections of Introduction to Statistics (MATH-108) during the Spring 2027 semester. The course is a four-credit introduction to data analysis, descriptive statistics, probability, Bayes' Theorem, distributions of random variables, and topics in statistical inference. Each section is capped at 35 students, and the two sections together constitute an eight-credit teaching assignment. The scheduled sections meet Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: MATH 108-04 from 8:45 to 9:50 a.m. and MATH 108-05 from 12:30 to 1:35 p.m. The semester runs from January 26 through May 17, 2027. This is a part-time, non-tenure-track appointment for the Spring 2027 semester and is contingent upon sufficient course enrollment. The university does not provide visa sponsorship; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. Applicants should submit a cover letter describing their academic preparation and teaching experience, including availability for both scheduled sections; a current CV or résumé; unofficial graduate transcripts; and contact information for two professional references. Application review begins November 16, 2026, and continues until the position is filled.
