College of Southern Maryland•Multiple Campuses, MD

About The Position

The College of Southern Maryland is accepting applications for an adjunct faculty applicant pool in Mathematics within the Mathematics and Engineering Department. Adjunct faculty are hired as instructional needs arise; inclusion in the pool does not guarantee an immediate teaching assignment. This is a part-time faculty pool supporting transfer pathways in STEM, business, health sciences, and general education. Courses include college preparatory, general education, statistics, and STEM mathematics such as precalculus, calculus, and linear algebra, offered across multiple campuses and Early College locations. Adjunct faculty plan, prepare, present, assess, and evaluate instruction that promotes student-centered learning. Teaching assignments may take place during the day, evening, or weekend, and may be online, hybrid, laboratory, clinical, or in other assigned instructional settings. Early College faculty generally teach face-to-face approximately 8:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., two to four days per week. Applicants should submit a resume or curriculum vitae, unofficial transcripts (official transcripts are required upon hire), any required licenses or certifications, and additional discipline-specific documents if applicable. Applications remain active until the posting is refreshed or closed, and adjunct pools are typically refreshed annually. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required background investigations, including criminal history, sex offender registry, and fingerprint checks.
