About The Position
The Education Department at Keene State College is seeking qualified applicants for an adjunct faculty position in Elementary Education for the 2026-27 academic year. This is a part-time benefited position. The role involves teaching foundational courses in the program, specifically EDUC 321 Elementary Methods: Literacy and Social Studies. This course integrates theoretical and practical approaches to literacy and social studies instruction in grades K-6, focusing on curriculum development, lesson planning, cross-curricular integration, structured literacy instruction and assessment, children's literature, pedagogical practices, and arts integration through extended clinical experiences. Keene State College's educator preparation programs hold CAEP accreditation. Requirements
- Earned master’s degree in education or related field by August 1, 2026.
- Minimum of five years full-time teaching experience in public schools at the elementary level (K-6).
- Availability to teach in-person, during the day (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8am-12pm).
Nice To Haves
- Expertise in literacy content and pedagogy.
- Experience teaching in an inclusive environment with diverse student populations (examples: SES, students with IEPs and 504 plans, ELL, cultural, and racial/ethnic).
- College teaching experience.
- Supervision experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach EDUC 321 Elementary Methods: Literacy and Social Studies.
